• September 2020, the combined inflation of 5 CPI cities in South Sulawesi was 0.02 percent or there was an increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 104.76 to 104.79 in September 2020. Of the 5 CPI cities, three cities (Bulukumba, Makassar, Parepare) experienced inflation and two cities (Watampone and Palopo) experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in the City of Parepare at 0.18 percent and the highest deflation occurred in the City of Watampone at 0.31 percent.
• Inflation occurred due to an increase in most of the index for the expenditure group, namely the food, beverage and tobacco group by 0.01 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.04 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels group of 0.01 percent; the health group of 0.21 percent; the transportation group by 0.01 percent; the information, communication and financial services group of 0.06 percent; the recreation, sports and culture group by 0.03 percent; and personal care and other services group by 0.41 percent. Meanwhile, two other expenditure groups experienced deflation, namely the equipment, equipment and routine household maintenance group at 0.01 percent; and the education group by 0.61 percent.
• The calendar year inflation rate is 1.47 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (September 2020 against September 2019) is 1.64 percent.
