Level of Inequality of Population Expenditure in South Sulawesi, September 2019

Abstract

· In September 2019, the level of inequality of South Sulawesi population expenditure measured by the Gini Ratio was 0.391. This figure is up by 0.003 points compared to the September 2018 Gini Ratio of 0.388.

· The Gini Ratio in urban areas in September 2019 was 0.393, while the Gini Ratio in rural areas in September 2019 was 0.354.

· During the September 2018-September 2019 period, the distribution of expenditure from the lowest 40 percent population group showed a decline, from 16.95 percent in September 2018 to 16.71 percent in September 2019.

In urban areas, the distribution of the lowest 40 percent group expenditure in the September 2018-September 2019 period also showed a decrease, namely from 16.64 percent in September 2018 to 16.37 percent in September 2019. While in rural areas, the contribution of the lowest 40 percent population expenditure rose from 18.24 percent in September 2018 to 18.48 percent in September 2019
