Abstract

The Village Development Index (IPD) is a measure developed to assess the level of progress or development of villages in Indonesia. The IPD measurement was built from the 2018 Village Potential Data Collection (Podes) data that was carried out by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) in May 2018 and used as a reference for the main indicators that compile the index.
Through its constituent components, IPD can be used to identify village development conditions that include 5 dimensions and 42 indicators that describe the availability and accessibility of services to village communities. By taking into account the various conditions described in each indicator, the regional government and village government can carry out development, namely by giving priority and selection to efforts to improve community services related to indicators that are still of low quality and as deemed necessary.
