Exports in May 2025 reached US$129.37 million, a decrease of 21.75 percent compared to May 2024

Abstract

The export value shipped through ports in Sulawesi Selatan during the period of January–May 2025 reached US$636.65 million, a decrease of 20.94 percent compared to the same period in 2024. The export value in May 2025 stood at US$129.37 million, declining by 21.75 percent compared to May 2024.
Among the ten main export commodities from January to May 2025, the commodity with the largest increase was salt, sulfur, and lime, which rose by US$8.89 million (50.33 percent). On the other hand, the commodity with the largest decrease was nickel, which dropped by US$56.07 million (13.97 percent).
The import value of goods unloaded through ports in Sulawesi Selatan in May 2025 was US$59.06 million, a decrease of 44.83 percent compared to the import value in May 2024, which was US$107.06 million.
The five main imported commodity groups in May 2025 were Sugar and Confectionery (27.82 percent), Cocoa (22.20 percent), Machinery/Electrical Equipment (13.13 percent), Mineral Fuels (13.08 percent), and Prepared Animal Feed (5.63 percent).
