South Sulawesi Province Plantation Statistics 2022-2025

The agricultural sector plays a crucial role in South Sulawesi's economic activity. This can be seen in recent years, where the Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries sector has made the largest contribution to the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP). In 2024, the Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries sector contributed 21.84 percent to South Sulawesi's GRDP, followed by Wholesale and Retail Trade; Automobile and Motorcycle Repair (14.80 percent); Construction (13.51 percent); and Manufacturing (13.02 percent).One subsector with significant potential within the Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries sector is the plantation subsector. The potential of the plantation sector can be seen from the land area and the large production of plantation crops in South Sulawesi province. Several plantation commodities are also export commodities, contributing to the country's foreign exchange earnings. Therefore, this South Sulawesi Provincial Plantation Publication serves as a reference in an effort to provide information to policymakers, both government and private, regarding the plantation potential in South Sulawesi. The data used in this analysis is data from 2022–2025. The 2022 and 2023 data are final figures that have been released, while the 2024 and 2025 data are provisional and very provisional.
