Abstract

In the first quarter of 2025, South Sulawesi’s economy—as measured by the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP)—reached IDR 173.51 trillion at current prices and IDR 97.36 trillion at constant 2010 prices.
Compared to the same quarter of the previous year (year-on-year), South Sulawesi’s economy grew by 5.78 percent. From the production side, the Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries sector recorded the highest growth at 16.56 percent. From the expenditure side, the highest growth was recorded in the Exports of Goods and Services component, which rose by 16.61 percent.
Compared to the previous quarter (quarter-to-quarter), South Sulawesi’s economy contracted by 4.12 percent in Q1-2025. From the production side, the deepest contraction occurred in the Construction sector, which declined by 26.06 percent. On the expenditure side, the Government Consumption Expenditure component recorded the sharpest contraction at 51.38 percent.
