The Economic of Sulawesi Selatan in the Fourth Quarter of 2024 grows 5.18 Percent (y-on-y)

Abstract

The economy of South Sulawesi in 2024, as measured by the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices, reached IDR 696.25 trillion, while at constant 2010 prices, it amounted to IDR 396.14 trillion.
Cumulatively, South Sulawesi's economy grew by 5.02 percent in 2024 compared to 2023 (c-to-c). From the production side, the Other Services sector recorded the highest growth at 14.57 percent. On the expenditure side, all components experienced positive growth, with the highest increase recorded in Non-Profit Institutions Serving Households (NPISH) Consumption Expenditure, which grew by 19.52 percent.
In Q4-2024, South Sulawesi's economy grew by 5.18 percent compared to Q4-2023 (y-on-y). From the production perspective, the Human Health and Social Work Activities sector recorded the highest growth at 15.51 percent. On the expenditure side, NPISH Consumption Expenditure showed the highest increase at 9.30 percent.
However, compared to the previous quarter, South Sulawesi’s economy contracted by 1.34 percent (q-to-q) in Q4-2024. From the production side, the Human Health and Social Work Activities sector recorded the highest growth at 14.99 percent. On the expenditure side, Imports of Goods and Services showed the highest increase, growing by 32.94 percent.
