Abstract

The percentage of the poor population in September 2024 was 7.77 percent, down 0.29 percentage points compared to March 2024.
The number of poor people in September 2024 was 711.77 thousand people, down 24.7 thousand people compared to March 2024.
The percentage of urban poor in March 2024 was 5.08 percent, rising to 5.21 percent in September 2024. Meanwhile, the percentage of rural poor in March 2024 was 10.74 percent, dropping to 10.11 percent in September 2024.
Compared to March 2024, the number of urban poor in September 2024 increased by 8.9 thousand people (from 219.65 thousand people in March 2024 to 228.59 thousand people in September 2024). Meanwhile, in the same period, the number of rural poor people decreased by 33.7 thousand people (from 516.83 thousand people in March 2024 to 483.17 thousand people in September 2024).
The Poverty Line in September 2024 was recorded at IDR 467,991,-/capita/month with the composition of the Food Poverty Line of IDR 350,315,- (74.68 percent) and the Non-Food Poverty Line of IDR 117,676,- (25.32 percent).
In September 2024, on average, poor households in South Sulawesi have 5.36 household members. Thus, the average size of the Poverty Line per poor household is Rp 2,508,432,-/poor household/month.
