In 2024, the rice harvest area is estimated to be 0.95 million hectares with rice production of around 4.80 million tons of dry milled grain (GKG). If converted into rice for population food consumption, then rice production in 2024 is estimated to be 2.75 million tons. The rice harvest area in 2024 is estimated to decrease by 18.01 thousand hectares or 1.86 percent compared to the rice harvest area in 2023 which was 0.97 million hectares. Rice production in 2024 is estimated to decrease by 79.71 thousand tons of GKG or 1.63 percent compared to rice production in 2023 which was 4.88 million tons of GKG. Rice production in 2024 for population food consumption is estimated to decrease by 45.74 thousand tons or 1.63 percent compared to rice production in 2023 which was 2.80 million tons.
