Abstract

o The number of poor people in South Sulawesi in September 2020 was 800.24 thousand people, an increase of 23.41 thousand people compared to March 2020 and an increase of 40.66 thousand people compared to September 2019 o The percentage of poor people in September 2020 of 8.99 percent also increased by 0.27 points from March 2020 and an increase of 0.43 points from September 2019. The percentage of poor people experienced an increase in both urban and rural areas during the period September 2019 - September 2020. o In September 2020, the Poverty Line is IDR 362,031 / capita / month with the composition of the Food Poverty Line of IDR 271,199 / capita / month (74.91 percent) and the Non-Food Poverty Line of IDR 90,832 / capita / month (25.09 percent) . o Food commodities that have a big effect on the poverty line value are rice, filter clove cigarettes, milkfish, eggs, sugar, wet cakes, instant noodles and ground coffee and instant coffee. For non-food commodities, the largest contribution to the Poverty Line is the cost of housing, gasoline, education, electricity, water and toiletries. o In the period September 2019 - September 2020, the Poverty Depth Index (P1) experienced an increase in both urban and rural areas, while the Poverty Severity Index (P2) experienced a decrease in urban areas but increased in rural areas.
