Abstract

• In September 2020, the level of expenditure inequality for the people of South Sulawesi as measured by the Gini Ratio was 0.382. This figure is down by 0.009 points compared to the September 2019 Gini Ratio of 0.391. • The Gini Ratio in urban areas in September 2020 was 0.384, while the Gini Ratio in rural areas in September 2020 was 0.352. • During the period September 2019-September 2020, the distribution of expenditure of the bottom 40 percent of the population showed an increase, from 16.71 percent in September 2019 to 17.95 percent in September 2020. • In urban areas, the distribution of the lowest 40 percent of the group's expenditure in the September 2019-September 2020 period also showed an increase, from 16.37 percent in September 2019 to 17.78 percent in September 2020. Likewise in rural areas, the contribution of population expenditure was the lowest 40 percent increased from 18.48 percent in September 2019 to 19.44 percent in September 2020.
