Abstract

• In March 2019, the level of inequality in the expenditure of the population of South Sulawesi as measured by the Gini Ratio was 0.389, down compared to March 2018 of 0.397.

• The Gini Ratio in urban areas in March 2019 was 0.394, while the Gini Ratio in rural areas in March 2019 was 0.345.

• During the March 2018 - March 2019 period, the distribution of expenditure from the lowest 40 percent population group showed an increase, from 16.30 percent in March 2018 to 17.02 percent in March 2019.

• In urban areas, the distribution of group expenditures for the lowest 40 percent in the March 2018 - March 2019 period also showed an increase, from 16.09 percent to 16.29 percent. As in rural areas, the contribution of the bottom 40 percent of the population's expenditure increased from 18.00 percent in March 2018 to 18.92 percent in March 2019.
